Kathryn Bigelow won the Directors Guild Award for “Hurt Locker.” putting her right in line to win the Oscar for best director and best picture. They got it right.
Hi everyone. Steve Jobs presented the new Ipad (Yup, that’s the name) today in San Francisco. It’ll run all your Iphone Apps with no modifications. But it does not make phone calls — at least not like your Iphone does (oh, that’s right — they do everything but make calls too). WiFi based, the Iphone will be great for SKYPE — and has a battery life of 10 hours. So [...]
Rumors, rumors, rumors. the latest Apple invention, the Islate is supposed to be announced tomorrow. After attending the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago — it’s difficult to believe that anything else could really wow me. The bloggie panoramic video recorder from Sony, the charger pad where you just toss your phone down, the 3-D TV’s all over the place, the 42 million Intel chip [...]
In December 2008, the Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism released a unanimous threat assessment: Unless the world community acts decisively and with great urgency, it is more likely than not that a weapon of mass destruction (WMD) will be used in a terrorist attack somewhere in the world by the end of 2013. That weapon is more likely to be biological than nuclear. [...]
Martin Luther King’s I have a Dream Speech.
Like Jim Cameron said, “I thought Kathryn was going to win. She richly deserves it.” Kind words for Kathryn who really should have won for best director and best picture. Hurt Locker is an amazing, all engrossing film. Based upon the true life story of an bomb diffusing team in Iraq, the tag line reads, “war is addictive.” And by the end of HURT LOCKER, you know that it’s true. [...]
Hi Everybody. It’s Academy Award Season again! And to kick the fun off is the Golden Globes. We all watch the Golden Globes — but who the heck are they anyway? Well, depending on how you count, the 82 to 90 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press vote for the Golden Globes winners. Who are these people? Well, for the most part, people you’ve never heard of. Names like — [...]
A great Quentin Tarentino fillm. If you like Quentin’s style, then you will like this film. Dark, funny. quirky — smart. Brad Pitt MADE the film. Were some of Quentin’s other films better? Yes. But don’t let that detract you from seeing this film.
Was it just me, or were other people happy to see our last President out there doing something other than selling sports equipment or trying to be a motivations speaker. Poor old George W. looked really nervous at the Press Conference this morning, but he was trying. And Bill tried really hard to make George feel more at ease. When President Obama called on these two former President to come [...]
Surprise, surprise. The banks are taking 3% of your donation to Haiti relief if you make your donation with your VISA card. So DO NOT DO THAT. Make your donations thru the ClintonBush fund, or text message your donation.
A completely different kind of Iraq war film. Kathryn Bigelow’s latest film is no doubt her very best. This film involves you, makes you understand. Engages you from beginning to end. The lead line is: “War is addictive” and by the time you are finished with this captivating film, you know that is true. See this film. It’s up for a Golden Globe and it deserves it.
I really wanted this film to be visionary. I really did. I think Jim Cameron is about as smart as they come. Good movies are supposed to be about great stories, well told. Avatar is a mediocre story, well told. During the movie I found myself musing — “Ah, Dreamtime, that’s Aboriginal. This is like the Amazon forest invasion. Those bombs look like the deforestation in Vietnam. They sound like [...]
I have no dog in this fight. Just to put that out there up front. But here’s the deal. Fox wants to change the game. As of now, Fox gets a dollar per customer, per month for its cable channels from Warner. They don’t get anything for the free channels — that is the channels we would get whether or not we get cable. Local channels. But Fox now wants [...]

An individual in his early 20s’, Hispanic, red jacket dark pants, on an expensive bike with a backpack — was on Murietta this morning taking his time checking out a house where some construction was being completed and the front door was open — the house was between Ventura Blvd. and Davana Terrace. When asked what he was doing he said he was working at a house two doors down. [...]
