The GOP, which has been busy filibustering the extension of unemployment benefits, would have you believe that this $300 a week encourages folks not to work.
WHAT?? Are they crazy? $309 a week?
And then the GOP has another idea. They’re convinced that the unemployed are drug users; Orin Hatch suggested the unemployed be tested for drugs before getting their $309 a week.
WHAT?? Is he crazy? Who drug tested Wall Street with the bailout?
Last, the GOP says we ought to cut some programs before we extend unemployment benefits. The problem is; they won’s say what they want to cut.
Never before in the history of this great country have we denied an extension of unemployment benefits to people when the unemployment rate was more than 6%.
The GOP: out of touch and wrong again.
